Applying actual statistics to the subject [Jul. 13th, 2010|07:15 pm]
Richard Clegg
I've written my own improved textual analyser -- this is based on many years of study of the writing of bloggers, journalists and people who post memes about a lot.

Oh dear god in heaven with a albino martial arts expert alongside me - according to that I really do write like Dan Brown.

BTW the difference between To Kill A Mockingbird and Catcher In The Rye is one is a moving and evocative tale of growing up in the deep south of America with it's abhorrent and attendant racism and the other makes you want to kill John Lennon and Ronald Reagan.

Deeply wrong when Paul and Ringo are also in the band.

Phew - I made it analyse another piece from me and at least I am no longer like Dan Brown but 'something rolling about at random on the keyboard, possibly in pain' - I can live with that :-)

I knew I shouldn't have included Dan Brown. It's just too cruel.

I'm glad you've started doing funny stuff again, aside from just being yourself I mean.

Myself is not funny. See you on Friday? Am I OK to come straight round to yours when my train gets in? (Around 6:30 pm).

Love it, but you really should have included an insult for those who can't be bothered to type more than I typed...

Pasting your entry above yields:

I actually write like
a human, although not a human especially familiar with writing

I Actually Write Like Analyze your writing!

You shouldn't be so hard on yourself!

Also, disappointingly my text "Rar" was rejected out of hand!

I think that judgment is fair, better than being compared to Dan Brown.

You can hardly expect detailled and sophisticated textual analysis from three letters.

I did this test with an e-mail that had a combination of writing by me and a famous writer.
I got this result:
I actually write like
an adolescent goth after a heavy night on the absinthe

I Actually Write Like Analyze your writing!

(Grin) Do you feel it is a fair assessment?

I'm not offended (though I was never an adolescent goth), but I think China would be a bit shocked (he wasn't happy when a friend of mine said that China looked like he hung out at Slimelight!). :D
